How To Make Your Own Cold Brew Tea ( Part II )

Even though the Cold Brew Tea taste great on it's own already, we are going to share with you some more tips to spice things up a little >.<

Variations For Your Considerations
Now, the following may sound as unorthodox as it can get for traditional tea lovers. But trust us, this variations are tested and sold before in our retail store. We will try to share a little bit more on the concept along the way, here we go !

Adding Mint Leaves and or Sugar To Your Tea
Now if you haven't heard of it before, there is this blend of tea called the "Moroccan Mint Tea". It is a delicious tea made with Green Tea base, along with a generous amount of spearmint and sugar. People drink this hot tea in the dessert, and it is said to help them cool down. Yes, you read it correctly. Drinking it hot in the desert helps them cool down -_-lll

Though we are unsure how cooling it can be, but we are sure that it does taste delicious in our cold brew tea. Works well in hot tea as well though, feel free to experiment a little on this but remember to use our recommended brewing time as a guideline though.

Adding Condensed Milk
Before you go thinking "What The ~ ?". 😂

You might have already recall our local favourite "Teh", "Teh-Si" by now. This teas are made with Red Tea base, and sweetened with condensed milk. We simply used to call these variation "Milk Tea" in our store though. This variation works well on tea that are slightly stronger in taste. Based on past sales record, Jasmine Milk tea sells the best. But our personal favourite is actually the Long Jing Milk Tea which was overlooked most of the time.

Adding Fresh Milk
This is nothing special compared to the variations on top, but the taste is just equally good. Full cream milk works better then low fat ones though, frothing the milk can enhance the natural sweetness. Not to worry if you do not have the machines at home, there are some quick guides for your to grab off the internet to froth your milk without expensive machines. Our personal favourite for this is Iron Buddha cold brewed with sugar and fresh milk added.
Add Ginger😁
Recall "Teh Halia" ? Thats Red Tea  + Ginger + Condensed Milk. Our Tamil buddies add different spices such as ginger, cinnamon and pepper to it but that's another blend all in all called "Masala Tea". In case you are unaware of this, ginger are packed with lots of benefits. It helps digestions, and can treat many forms of nausea, especially morning sickness. Ginger Red Tea with brown sugar is also recorded in TCM to warm up your body and promote blood circulation. Particularly good for
  • Ladies who experience cramps or pain during their period.
  • People who have cold hands / feet.
For a start, try brewing your favourite tea with finely chopped / sliced ginger. We personally like to use this variation on our Ginger Red Tea, and Jasmine Tea. It is surprisingly refreshing, try it out !

Adding Ice Cream
Now this is THE most outrageous thing we tried so far. The idea struck us while we were drinking affogato at a cafè. Yes, affogato is espresso + ice cream. So... we headed back and tried it out with tea and than TADAAAA~ Teaffogato that's what we called it. >.<

Stronger teas work best with this variations, and we recommend vanilla ice cream even though we did not manage to test out the many different flavours of ice cream on the market, but we find that Long Jing and Red Robe works well on this variation. Use the cold brew tea brewing procedure but substitute ice with ice cream. 😆
